Getting started

Your first scan

From an empty account to a first set of real answers, in four steps.

A first scan takes a few minutes to set up and runs in the background. Here is the whole path.

1. Add a brand

A brand is the thing being measured. For a company tracking itself, that is one brand. For an agency, each client is a brand.

You give it a name and a website. From the website we build a Brand DNA: a short profile of what the company sells, who it sells to, and the words its market actually uses. That profile is what makes the prompt suggestions useful rather than generic.

2. Add the prompts that matter

A prompt is a question a buyer would type into an AI. Not a keyword.

Good prompts sound like this:

  • best project management software for a remote team
  • which CRM integrates with Shopify
  • is Acme Corp any good

Weak prompts sound like this:

  • software: no intent, no context, and the answer will be an encyclopedia entry
  • buy now cheap: nobody asks an AI this

You can add prompts by hand, or take the suggestions generated from your Brand DNA. Prompts can be paused at any time. A paused prompt costs nothing, keeps its history, and can be resumed later.

3. Name your competitors

Add up to four. These are the brands you want measured beside yours in share of voice and in the citation gap.

Competitors are matched by name in answer text, so add the variants people actually use. “Coca-Cola”, “Coca Cola” and “Coke” are three strings and one company.

4. Run the scan

Press scan. The run queues, then works through every active prompt on every engine. A 100-prompt library is 500 answers, so it takes a few minutes rather than a few seconds. You can leave the page.

When it finishes you get a visibility score, share of voice, a citation list and a set of recommendations. If an engine failed to return anything, the run says so rather than quietly scoring you lower.

After the first one

Set a schedule. Weekly is the default and the one the plans are priced around: it sweeps your entire prompt library every week.

If a handful of prompts matter more than the rest, put them on the daily watchlist. That runs just those prompts every morning, which costs a fraction of a full sweep and catches fast movement without burning your monthly budget.
